On Rains...

Rajesh Srivastava

Rain!
Yeah, She does
And how!

Not now
'Cause YOU need
Somehow!

All She follows
Is Science
Precipitation.
Not Exasperation
Or, EXHILARATION.

Downpour
Blizzard
Storm, Typhoon or just
Drizzle or mizzle
Are names YOU gave
She doesn't care!

Howsoever scanty
It'd rained,
you can't deny.
Quenching is your personal matter
It doesn't matter.
Your arms stretched
You had cried __

'Cause All She follows
Is Science,
Precipitation.

Yet,
to get Drenched Completely
Till Indiscernible
I will await You, until
Eternity.

  1. I know there was a context to this spontaneous write-up... and for the life of me ( and thanks to the 'gold' in my years) - I just cannot recall! This, I must say, Rajesh "On Rains" is one of your best!
Keep writing - which I know you do, so I'll also say - keep sharing :-)

  2. Good one! Quite the opposite sentiment from the nursery rhyme 'rain rain go away, come again another day...' Keep sharing as she said.

  3. Precipitation,
    Call it drizzle, nozzle,
    Or cyclone.

    She doesn't care,
    She's just there,
    Indifferent to human perception.

    One little Titli,
    Makes a very different equation,
    Featherless birds,
    Trapped in their station.

    It doesn't matter,
The howling winds or the raging water,
    Just like a drizzle, muzzle
    Or an occasional cyclone.

  4. BTW, muzzle and nozzle are autocractic alternatives for mizzle.
But, a drizzle is always a drizzle.
